For a consumer app: will users engage repeatedly, or just once? (Retention, not acquisition, determines viability.)

Building for scale before finding demand

The shift from MVP to production-grade software involves re-evaluating your tech stack, establishing proper CI/CD pipelines, building automated test coverage, and often migrating to more robust infrastructure. Plan for this phase to cost 2-4x your original MVP budget. That's not waste - it's the difference between a validated experiment and a product that can grow.

Choosing an MVP development partner

If you're not building in-house, the choice of development partner matters more for MVPs than for most software projects. Speed, communication quality, and the ability to make smart tradeoffs under uncertainty are more important than raw technical capability.

What to look for:
